BSLC.. the end is near

I can smell the end of BSLC. The 3 field camps have been left behind in the dust. Field camp sucks. Luckily during the few days there was no torrential rain, which will make our life so utterly miserable.

So exercise Grand Slam became known as Grand slack, as in between missions we have approximately 2h of rest time. Many people slept during the 2 hours after they hastily consumed their lunch or dinner. It gave us time to recharge after we did those tiring drills. We usually have 8 hours of sleep and field camps is when you sleep the most. How i wish we have a schedule in camp that is equals to that of field camp. Life will be so fun.

The navigation exercise was very tiring though. The weather is hot and we travel about 20km in that day going about our exercise. It was not a very good start for field camp when everyone is utterly exhausted. When i reach the end point, i just felt like collapsing there and snore away. It was a good experience though, it was difficult to find the checkpoints as the map is so old that new tracks appear and old tracks disappeared. The map certainly helped in our navigation (like real).

There was 1 group which was quite a joke. My group was following a drain and going south to our end point. We were smart enough to follow the drain which we would otherwise need to bash through a thickly vegetated swamp. When we were reaching the road, we heard sounds of chopping, branches snapping.. in that inaccessible swamp. So my team was like.. omg luckily we decided to detour a little and continue to follow the drain instead of bashing through the forest. The group later appeared at the end point, with 1 guy thoroughly wet (maybe he fell into the swap). Phew, heng ar.
