But i don't feel like its that great after all. You know, its all that kind of screwed up emo feelings.
"When u have to come tekong you don't want to come. But when u have to leave tekong then you all don't want, then wat the F you all want?" This are my CSM exact words. I must say i will miss this pervertic but humourous guy who always seeks to make our training more fun with his out of point remarks.
At least during POP the weather was forgiving. Rain like hell in the morning, which i suppose the morning batch had a POC instead. As for us the afternoon, the rain relented and we were given sunny weather. During the parade however, cloud cover was quite good and we did not receive the full dose of UV as what we did during rehearsals. So it was perfect, minus a few cock-up during the run ins.
We were cursing the weather just before the parade as we were afraid that we would have a POC instead of POP, which will render all our rehearsals to nought. We cannot accept a pussy pes C POC. I still remembered, 1 night before our POP when pegasus had their POC. 1 guy ran down and shouted "PES A pussies! POC LO!" So we thought, he's insulting himself isn't it? Pes C instead of A and POC. I guess there's nothing to feel pissed about this stupid bugger.
So everything is over and I now have a holiday, probably I will just game my days away, weekends go out with friends and probably tidy up my room a bit for my bro to use. Chances are, I will go Sispec instead of OCS as i wasn't that outstanding after all. So i shall accept that fate and receive less shit than i will probably get from OCS.
24KM Route March
This is one hella route march. Although its just 8km more than the previous 16km, it felt like eternity. I was able to do 12km quite easily, but after dinner when we continue the rest of the journey, it was like hell. They were fast marching in the dark from old sispec to the furthest FUP (form up point) where we have our 16km point in total darkness. We marched past the legendary FIBUA (fighting in built-up area) village where i saw nothing unusual, but people swear by its horrors.
There, i saw the most stars in the skys in my life for the 3rd time. First was at mawai, second was at bintan and third ROUTE MARCH!?!? quite a weird place to be enjoying stars. After that, we began the march back to old sispec for the 20km point. It felt much faster despite the slower pace, perception of relativity (o.0). In front, there was suppose to be a company, but they fast marched and soon we lost sight of them. By the time we reached old sispec, the 1st company was on the way to march back to camp already. But we were not really that slow anyway.
So we ended the march in high spirits, singing the whole of the 4km left with our platoon sergeant leading songs for like 2km. Everyone was freaking exhausted and cramping all over. I guess that we really needed to sing to complete the march. Some people were limping since 12km thx to abrasion, blisters and other injuries. I really admire their determination to complete the rest of the march. Of course we were encouraging each other. But wat PS said was the most correct, if you don't sing people will start falling out. The last 4km was freaking fast fast march. where we were rushing to close up with the first company.
My legs felt like dying since 16km already. But singing really helps to push ourselves on. I was glad that i didn't get abrasion and cramps. But i swear, another 2km i would have been up the safety vehicle already. One thing i wonder most, did the girls complete the march? Some companys did not put ET blade and stick, which is a good 2kg off the load of the bag. HELL, my company had everything inside. I was glad that we finished with full load, now there is something to hao lian about.
Bye tekong, bye platoonmates, bye my old self.
